Sales Engineer

A varied job

In the position of Sales Engineer you work on several projects at the same time. You will be the person to ask questions about technical matters, by phone or email. The basis of the position consists of making the layout drawings (via Autocad 2D) of the production lines. You will also have frequent contact and consultation with your colleagues in Sales and Engineering. It is important to understand the whole process, so affinity with engineering and analytical skills are of great importance. Finally, you are someone who looks beyond your own work and optimises processes. A comprehensive position, in other words.

The total process of sales, engineering, construction, production and assembly, right through to After Sales & Service, takes place in house.

And what are the tasks associated with this position?

• Together with the Sales Managers, you are the contact person from request to order,
• Frequent contact with the Sales Managers and fellow Sales Engineers,
• Creating layout drawings (2D CAD) of production lines,
• Answering incoming calls/mail traffic (customers/internal colleagues),
• Checking purchase orders,
• Attending the transfer from Sales to Project Management,
• Making the Sales department and the sales process more efficient.

You have a dynamic work attitude and an energetic character. You also project this to the rest of your colleagues. This is a sales position, so it goes without saying that both written and communication skills are required. You must have some experience with machines and production lines so that you can keep up with the discussion at a technical level. Finally, you must be stress-resistant, as the pressure can sometimes rise.

Other concrete requirements are:

• A completed MBO (technical college) course (preferably specialising in mechanical engineering),
• Experience with AutoCAD 2D,
• Experience with common MS Office packages,
• High proficiency in the English language,
• Affinity with engineering.​
